The Fractured World of Boxing Rights
Unlike the NFL or NBA, boxing has no central league. Instead, it has "Promoters," and each promoter has an exclusive deal with a specific TV network. To follow the sport, you need to know who promotes the fighter you want to watch.
The Big Three Platforms
- DAZN (The "Netflix of Sports"): Home to Matchroom Boxing (Anthony Joshua) and Golden Boy (Ryan Garcia). DAZN requires a monthly subscription but includes most "fight nights" without an extra PPV fee.
- ESPN / ESPN+ (Top Rank): The home of Tyson Fury, Shakur Stevenson, and Naoya Inoue. Most undercards stream on ESPN+, while mega-fights are often ESPN PPV.
- Prime Video (PBC): Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) features stars like Canelo Alvarez and Gervonta Davis. These are almost exclusively high-priced Pay-Per-View events distributed via Amazon Prime.
Boxing start times are notoriously fluid. The "Main Event" usually starts 3-4 hours after the broadcast begins, depending on how long the undercard fights last.
